Research the earnings event, then journal the trade

Options Whale is deterministic earnings research with a private trading journal beside it, and an optional read-only connection that brings the same evidence into your own AI assistant.

Earnings research

Verified report dates, dated implied-volatility observations, the priced expected move and how the same event resolved historically. Every observation carries the time it was recorded, so you can see how old the evidence is.

Calendar and screener

Plan the week on the earnings calendar, then filter published research by date, priced move, capital required and data availability. Thin or missing evidence is labelled, not filled in.

AI tools

Ask in plain language and get real candidates out: the model translates your request and explains results produced by deterministic functions. A read-only MCP server puts the same stored evidence inside your own AI host.

Free calculators

Fourteen options calculators — expected move, payoff and breakevens, GEX, max pain, the wheel, rolls, position sizing and more — sharing the calculation library the research uses. No account required.

Trade journal

The trades you actually made, kept beside the evidence that informed them: imports preserve fills, instruments and fees, collected premium stays separate from realized P&L, and a hypothetical research plan is never a broker order.

How the two products fit together

earnings calendar verified dates and what is already published
        |
        v
earnings research dated IV observations, priced move, historical outcomes
        |

your journal the fills you actually got, fees, and what happened after

The research half works on its own — nothing on this site requires a journal account. The journal half is a separate application that keeps its own records; connect the two and a saved plan travels with an immutable snapshot of the evidence that justified it.

What is available now, and what is not

Available today

  • Earnings research, calendar, screener and the evidence brief.
  • Fourteen free calculators, with no account required.
  • The AI research console over the same deterministic functions.
  • A read-only MCP server for AI hosts that support local servers.
  • The trade journal, as its own account and deployment.

Not available in this release

  • No live or executable feed. Market data is delayed, and modelled premiums are not quotes you can fill.
  • No hosted or remote MCP endpoint, and no OAuth scopes — local stdio is the supported connection.
  • No broker order routing. Nothing here places, amends or cancels an order.
  • No performance promises, and no research is advice.
